The campus benefits from a riverside location which is a few minutes from the local beaches and is in easy reach to the city centre.  

Flight

The nearest airport is Newcastle International Airport. Once you’ve arrived at the airport you can get the Metro which runs every 12 minutes to St Peters station which is a 5-minute walk to the St Peters campus.

Train

Sunderland centre station is the closest mainline train station to the conference venue. The station has connections to a range of major cities including London, Newcastle and York. The station is located in the City Centre, the local Metro service operates from this station with the St Peters station (closest to conference location) only one stop away.

Car

If driving to the conference the postcode for the St Peters campus is: SR6 0DD. Parking is available at the campus, however this may be limited at peak times.

National Glass Centre

based on the St Peters Campus this centre boasts a range of work from the world’s finest contemporary glass and ceramic artists. The centre is also home to the Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art.

Roker and Seaburn Beaches

Just a short walk from the St Peters campus are the local award winning beaches. Both Roker and Seaburn have a wide range of cafes and restaurants.  

Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens

Based within Sunderland City Centre, the museum and tropical winter gardens contain a range of exhibitions detailing the history of Sunderland. The museum is free to attend and contains exhibitions dedicated to shipbuilding, glass making and pottery and has an extensive collection of works by the artist LS Lowry.
